Director Of Home Care Services (Administrative)

Duty of the Position

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1) The Director of Home Care Services shall manage the Medicaid Waivers and other Personal Support Services to ensure that the programs are in full compliance, with no audit findings, with its policies and procedures with all state and federal agencies.
2) Continue to develop a department team that will provide high quality, caring direct support services.
3) Develop, implement, and continuously refine as needed, in collaboration with the Executive Director and the department staff, a long-range strategic plan for the Home Care Programs.
4) Consistently market and promote Home Care services to ensure a 10% growth annually.
5) Regularly speak to groups about services (i.e. churches, civic organizations, social workers, etc.)
6) Develop, monitor and maintain the budget of the Home Care Programs with variance to remain within 7.5%.
7) Continue to mentor departmental staff to ensure their growth.
8) Approves (assists with implementation) all monthly billing and payroll for the Home Care Program.
9) Facilities bi-monthly staff meetings to review referrals, incident reports and other issues and to report all major concerns to the Executive Director of the Cedar Wellness Care CWC. Inform Executive Director of dates/times of meetings.
10) Completes performance evaluations for staff directly supervising. Reviews performance evaluations of direct service staff.
11) Attend monthly provider meetings.
12) Approves program documentation and procedures; and incorporates them into the CWC policy and procedure manual.
13) Approves ordering of supplies and equipment for the Home Care Department.
14) Performs second interviews with candidates for direct service positions.
15) Keep current with the governmental requirements of the programs by reading the Waiver operation manual and the informational memorandums, and communicate any changes to the employees in the department.
16) Must be aware of the Individual Rights and Responsibility Act.
17) Completes disciplinary action forms.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent. 
Minimum 3 years healthcare operations management (or experience). 
Prior experience with budgetary responsibilities including budget development and monitoring 
Broad knowledge of home health and hospice federal and state regulations/administration 
Outstanding leadership, managerial skills, excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, excellent problem-solving, decision-making and assertiveness skills
